CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2010-11 STUDENTS OF THE MONTH!

Each month La Reina honors one junior high and one senior high school student as Students of the Month.  The purpose of the award is to recognize students who exemplify the spirit and philosophy of La Reina High School according to the following criteria:

•Live in the spirit of the Gospel.
•Demonstrate a personal spirituality which promotes reconciliation, justice and respect.
•Value inter-group cooperation and responsibility by participation in church, educational, social and civic groups.
•Appreciate and use the knowledge and wisdom of others.
•Use available opportunities to discover, develop and share the unique gifts God has given her.

The Student of the Month award was established in January, 1988 after a student demonstrated outstanding concern for others.  In a cross country meet, Julie Sanders '89 sacrificed her own lead in the race to guide a runner from competing school who had gone off-course.

Congratulations to the 2010-11 Students of the Month!  Faculty members nominate a student and provide a description of the student's traits which demonstrate her Regent spirit.  Follow this link to learn more about these students.

CLASS OF 2016 LEADS LEGACY & PROMISE ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN

Attention:   parents, alumnae, alumnae parents and friends of La Reina!  June 30 is the end of the LRHS fiscal year and so last-minute donations to the Legacy & Promise Annual Fund will be deeply appreciated.  Legacy & Promise helps to fund the $1,900 gap between the current tuition and the actual cost to educate each student.    Every La Reina student receives a partial tuition grant.

In the spirit of the Sisters of Notre Dame, La Reina’s tradition is to keep tuition reasonable so that any qualified student can attend.  Today, 14% of current La Reina students receive financial aid.  A donor may designate a Legacy & Promise contribution as unrestricted, as financial aid, or as a contribution for any LRHS activity or academic department.

Thank you to the many parents, alumnae and friends who have already donated to Legacy & Promise this year.   These are the standings for current parent participation in this campaign:

Class of 2016, 47%
Class of 2013, 36%
Class of 2014, 35%
Class of 2011, 34%
Class of 2015, 30%
Class of 2012, 22%

This fall, a 2010-11 annual report will be published and donors will be recognized according to these giving levels:

President’s Council:   $5,000 +
Principal’s Circle:  $2,500 – 1,001
Emerald Club:  $1,000 – 501
Regents’ Club:  $500 – 251
Green & Gold Circle:  $250 – 101
Friends of La Reina:  $100 – 1

To make a one-time or recurring online donation, follow this link:  http://www.lareina.com/donations/donate_nowForm.asp

We are grateful for donations in any amount—every sacrifice will touch the present and the future.  For further information, contact Sr. Lisa Megaffin at 805-495-6494, ext. 382.  We pray that God will bless you and your family for being partners with us.

PS--Many corporations, such as Amgen, Bank of America and Verizon, match donor gifts...a great way to double your investment in the Regents!
