REGENTS CAPTURE CALIFORNIA STATE MOCK TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

In a stiff competition with schools representing 29 counties, La Reina High School won the California State Mock Trial Championship today.  The Regents won preliminary cases versus Westlake High School (wild card team from Ventura County), Southwest High School (Imperial County), Prospect High School (Santa Clara County) and Talmapis High School (Marin County).  The finals found the La Reina defense team competing against Elk Grove High School from Sacramento County.

Thea Percival '11 also won top awards for her portrayal of defense witness Chris Draper.

The team now begins preparations for the national Mock Trial Tournament, to be held from May 5 through 7 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Regents also captured the California title in 2008 and 16 Ventura County titles since 1990.

CLASS OF 2013 CONTINUES TO LEAD LEGACY & PROMISE CAMPAIGN

This message is a reminder about La Reina’s Legacy & Promise annual fund campaign.  This fund helps to close the $1,900 gap between the tuition and the actual cost-to-educate each student.  Thank you to the fantastic crew of Phone-a-thon volunteers who called parents during the weeks of March 14 and 21!

Special thanks, too, to the parents who donated during the Phone-a-thon or have pledged to make a contribution before June 30, the end of the fiscal year.

Congratulations to the Class of 2013, continuing to maintain their lead in participation.  The current standings are:
Class of 2013 – 38%
Class of 2016 – 36%
Class of 2011 – 33%
Class of 2014 – 29%
Class of 2015 – 28%
Class of 2012 – 21%

Remember, donations in any amount will make an incredible difference!

Please invest in the Regents through a recurring or one-time gift.   Your donation will help fill the tuition gap, provide financial aid, or support other Regent programs.  To donate online, just follow this link

Thank you for believing in the La Reina legacy.  Your promise of support will bring hope to future generations of Regents.  Be assured of our prayers and good wishes, both now and in the future.  For further information, contact Sr. Lisa Megaffin, Director of Advancement at 805-495-6494, ext. 382 or lmegaffin@lareina.com.
