REGENTS CAPTURE INTERSCHOLASTIC EQUESTRIAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Congratulations to the Regents Equestrian Team--2010-11 Champions for the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL). This victory marks the 12th IEL championship for La Reina since 1995. The IEL includes teams from 69 schools throughout Southern California.
Awards earned at the April 16 show include:
Overall: High Point Team Champions
Varsity Division: Stacey Bacheller '13, High Point Reserve Champion Rider and second place in the Varsity Division
Junior Varsity Division: Haley Mosdell '11, Hunter Section Reserve Champion and second place in the JV Medal Class Final
Freshman Division: Rachel Swanson '14, fifth place in the Freshman Medal Class Final
Novice Division: Samantha Vaughan '16, Equitation Section Champion and Katie Brown '15, Dressage Section Reserve Champion

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS MASS
The next Circle of Friends Mass will take place on Thursday, May 12th at 8:15 a.m. in the La Reina High School Chapel. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave Heney. La Reina will sponsor a Spring Blood Drive on Tuesday, May 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The United Blood Services of Ventura County will be on campus that day to accept your gift of life. Across America, blood supplies need to be replenished regularly. Please consider making a donation! Donors must be 17 years old and meet the height/weight guidelines. At La Reina, students are given opportunities to grow spiritually, to achieve academic excellence, to develop a global perspective, and to contribute to the community. The school consistently produces award-winning speech teams and scholarship winners, as well as Tri-Valley League and Ventura County Mock Trial champions. All students are involved in some type of activity in the community, volunteering in hospitals, religious education programs, and in other community agencies. La Reina graduates are young women with meaningful values, schooled in the tradition of Christian service, willing and able to pursue excellence in reaching their goals.
To bring together outstanding students, their parents and community leaders, the La Reina High School Parent Guild hosts an Evening of Excellence. Students who receive awards have achieved excellence in a specialized field. Pioneered by the late Mark Bihn in 1982, this event gives the school and local communities the opportunity to recognize these outstanding students.
All students, parents, alumnae and friends of La Reina are cordially invited to attend. Seating is limited and the RSVP deadline is Friday, May 6.
