The La Reina Lacrosse team is official! The first practice took place last Sunday at school, and was well and enthusiastically attended! The team is starting on basic skills training, so no prior experience is required. As some of you may know, Lacrosse is the fastest growing girl's sport in the United States, and is a fast paced, exciting game. Everyone is welcome to come and try it out!
WHO: Open to all interested girls from 7th – 12th grade.
WHAT: 6 two hour practices, taught by the area's top women's Lacrosse coach. Girls will learn the sport's fundamentals and get a chance to scrimmage each other.
WHEN: The following Sunday afternoons from 3 – 5pm : March 10th, 17th, 24th April 14th, 28th and May 5th.
WHERE: La Reina Softball field to start and possible fields in Conejo Valley.
COST $75 to cover field and coaching expense for all practices. Fee will be billed through TADS. Girls will need to provide goggles, mouthguard and a lacrosse stick. All can be purchased locally for under $100. (Note: Stacy Lee has some beginner sticks that can be loaned out)
WHY: To introduce girls to this fast growing and exciting sport. Our objective is to lay the foundation for a 2013 – 14 Varsity team.
